Director, Product Design 

Set the vision. Center the customer. Lead the team. 

The Role Youll Play:

Lead design strategy & execution for the CB Insights platform. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will translate user pain & business objectives into intuitive, engaging, & impactful user experiences.

Your Main Tasks:

• Define & drive the design strategy & user experience for our platform across web, mobile, browser extensions, & integrations. Ensure alignment with business goals & user needs.
• Lead & mentor a team of talented product designers, providing guidance, support, & inspiration to foster creativity & excellence.
• Partner with product management, engineering, & other stakeholders to understand user pain, data & insights, market trends, & technological innovations
• Oversee the end-to-end design process, from concept ideation & wireframing to prototyping & final implementation, ensuring a seamless & intuitive user experience across all touchpoints.
• Build a practice & culture of user research, usability testing, & data analysis to gain insights into user behavior & preferences that inform critical design decisions
• Champion a user-centric design approach & advocate for the importance of design thinking throughout the organization.
• Keep leadership & the broader org informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, & design innovations, & incorporate relevant insights into our product design strategy.

What you bring to the table:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Design, HCI, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in product design, with a proven track record of leading & delivering successful design projects in a SaaS or technology-driven environment.
• 3+ years of experience managing & mentoring a team of product designers, with strong leadership & communication skills.
• Excellence with Balsamiq & Figma. Knowledge of Productboard a plus.
• Deep understanding of user-centered design principles, design thinking methods, & design systems
• Understanding of & passion for Generative Artificial Intelligence & the UX possibilities of conversational AI 
• Maniacally high standards & taste
• Urgency in the way you operate & lead teams
• Rigorous, clear, & compelling thinking demonstrated in how you present, write, & collaborate
