The Commercial Data Science & Machine Learning team at Squarespace is looking for a Data Science Team Manager. Our team develops & integrates data science models into company practices & the product to unlock value for Squarespace & its customers.

In this role, you will support investment decisions by leading data scientists to deliver high-impact models end-to-end, from initial scoping & requirements gathering to final deployment. In addition to team leadership, you will contribute hands-on to production machine-learning & statistical models, experimental design, & causal inference techniques.

This is a hybrid role working from our NYC office 3 days per week. You will report to the Senior Manager of Data Science & Machine Learning.

You'll Get To

• Manage a Data Science team, including project planning, technical leadership, & mentorship
• Work hands-on with the team to design, deploy, & maintain statistical & machine-learning models in business- & customer-facing applications; for example, marketing mix modeling, customer lifetime value modeling, & financial risk modeling.
• Collaborate with Analysts, Engineers, & Product Managers to deliver data solutions
• Drive the strategic roadmap by identifying new opportunities to solve business challenges with modeling
• Translate business needs to technical roadmaps & ensure alignment between technical & business partners.
• Continuously validate & improve model performance through iterative testing, tuning, & feature engineering
• Research advancements in AI, data science, & ML to evaluate potential applications of new technology

Who We're Looking For

• 8+ years of experience working in Data Science roles, with 1+ years experience leading teams
• Experience leading cross-functional projects to completion, managing project timelines & deliverables
• Excellent communication skills to explain complex analyses to technical & non-technical audiences
• People management skills, including mentorship of team members & elevating the skills of the entire team.
• Experience building & deploying models in a production environment
• Strong competency with Python & SQL

Cash Compensation Range: $153,500 - $247,250 USD

The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, & location, among other factors. 

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include on-target commissions or overtime pay), Squarespace employees are eligible to be granted an option to purchase our common stock.
