The Clinical Research team at Noom sits at the intersection of science & product innovation. We design, execute, & communicate rigorous studies that demonstrate the effectiveness of Nooms behavior-change interventions. Our work informs clinical validation, product development, & go-to-market strategies, ensuring that Noom remains a leader in evidence-based digital health. Noom has built a suite of world class digital & clinical interventions to drive powerful health outcomes, & has an extremely large user base & dataset, offering a unique asset to our clinical research organization.

Noom has developed an exceptional record of published research, with over dozens of peer-reviewed papers published evaluating the effectiveness & impact of our programs (see full list here), including multiple gold-standard randomized controlled trials. Nooms research portfolio spans retrospective & prospective studies across health outcomes & health economics, in areas ranging from obesity & weight care to psychology & mental health to diabetes & cardiometabolic care, & beyond.

About the Role

As we continue to grow, were seeking a Head of Clinical Research to lead Nooms clinical research roadmap & ensure it aligns with our business priorities. This is a high-impact leadership role where you'll drive the design & execution of rigorous clinical studies, manage & mentor a high-performing research team, & communicate the scientific credibility of Nooms interventions.

You Will

• Own & evolve Nooms Clinical Research strategy, aligning it with company-wide objectives & product priorities.
• Design & oversee a robust clinical research pipeline, ensuring methodological rigor, scientific integrity, & regulatory readiness.
• Manage, mentor, & scale a high-performing Clinical Research team.
• Lead research efforts in developing novel study designs & applying innovative data analysis approaches.
• Partner cross-functionally with Product, Data, Medical, & Marketing teams to support evidence generation that informs product development & go-to-market strategies.
• Represent Noom externally by translating complex research into clear, compelling narratives in publications, enterprise settings, & at conferences.

About You

You are extremely dynamic, fast-moving, & flexible. If youre interested in shaping the future of health by building & leading clinical research that supports life-changing digital health interventions, this role may be for you!

You Have

• PhD, MD, or equivalent advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., epidemiology, clinical fields, public health).
• 8+ years of experience designing & running clinical or behavioral intervention studies, with an emphasis on digital or remote studies.
• Proven experience managing, mentoring, & scaling research teams.
• Strong knowledge of study design & operations, statistical analysis, & publication standards.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to align scientific work with business & product goals.
• Exceptional communicatorcapable of distilling complex findings for a variety of stakeholders, & capable of translating business needs into clear research hypotheses
• Experience with data systems & tools like databricks, Looker, SQL, R, and/or Python.
• Bonus: Experience with digital health interventions.

Base Salary The US base salary range for this full-time position is $145,000-$197,000. 

• The range displayed on each job posting is based on Nooms estimate as of the date of publication & reflects the minimum & maximum target for the position for US-based candidates. The actual placement of the candidate within the range is based on factors including (but not limited to) relevant experience & training, assessment of functional skills & behavioral competencies, role scope, & location. This range is not inclusive of any discretionary bonus or equity package.
