Jackpocket is the first mobile lottery app in the U.S. that offers players a secure way to order official state lottery tickets, such as Powerball, Mega Millions, & more, via their smartphones. We're creating a more convenient, fun, & responsible way to play the lottery by modernizing the $300B global lottery market with a mobile platform that everyone, including grandma, can feel good about.

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will lead efforts to optimize the performance, reliability, availability, & scalability of Jackpockets technical infrastructure. Youll partner closely with tech leadership & serve as a go to SME on system design & functionality to ensure our systems are scaling properly & functioning optimally as we continue rapid expansion of the business.

Responsibilities

• Monitor mission critical systems & infrastructure to ensure proper function with a focus on continuous improvement & optimization
• Identify & investigate bottlenecks & latency issues & implement strategies to proactively address potential challenges
• Measure & analyze system health at granular & holistic levels & leverage data to drive decision making, continually innovating & scaling systems to meet business objectives
• Provide operational support as needed; identify, investigate, & resolve complex technical issues as they arise
• Serve as a technical & strategic advisor to leadership on technologies & methodologies to scale systems & optimize their availability & performance

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive experience in site reliability, devops, system infrastructure, or a related technical role
• Deep knowledge of & experience with cloud infrastructure services, GCP preferred
• Strong professional proficiency with Golang or similar languages 
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, specifically Terraform & Terragrunt
• Proven experience optimizing reliability & performance & scaling technical infrastructure in a fast paced & collaborative environment
• Strong analytical skills & ability to provide data driven recommendations for critical decision making, mainly around system reconfiguration & improvement
• Willingness & ability to be on call to address unforeseen issues outside of normal working hours as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Elixir, C, Python, or other programming languages
• Experience with solutions such as Spacelift, Terraform Cloud, Scalr, etc
• Proficiency with CDN technologies (CloudFront, CloudFlare, Fastly, etc.)
• Experience with ArgoCD or a comparable technology
• Previous management of Kubernetes infrastructure in a production environment
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Datadog, including the ability to understand metrics & the impact to system performance & the ability build dashboards & alerts to ensure system reliability
• Experience managing database systems such as Postgresql, & Mysql
• Experience with load testing technologies

The base salary range for this role is $170,000 - $190,000
