We're looking for a Senior or Lead Test Engineer to enhance the quality, reliability, & testability of our systems. You'll work with engineers, product managers, & designers to create test strategies, write automated tests, & identify quality risks before they reach customers.

This is a hybrid role working from our NYC office 3 days per week. You will report to the Senior Engineering Manager.

You'll Get To

• Collaborate with product & engineers to develop test plans early in the product development process
• Create automated integration & end-to-end tests, working with engineers to ensure testing across the stack
• Guide quality-related projects & advocate for best practices in test architecture, observability, & defect prevention.
• Mentor engineers & help establish a quality-first culture within your team

Who We're Looking For

• 6+ years of experience in software quality engineering or SDET roles, with a track record in test automation & strategy.
• Proficiency in test frameworks such as Jest, Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, or similar.
• Programming skills in a language such as JavaScript, Python, or Java.
• Familiarity with testing third-party integrations, asynchronous systems, & distributed environments.
• Experience mentoring other engineers & influencing quality standards at the team or organizational level.

Cash Compensation Range: $100,000 - $161,000 USD

The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, & location, among other factors.

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include on-target commissions or overtime pay), Squarespace employees are eligible to be granted an option to purchase our common stock.
