We are looking for a Lead UX Researcher to lead & support research for our Growth & Core Websites product teams. You will focus on a mix of exploratory work with prospective & current users, as well as iterative product development work for core website product enhancements. You are passionate about understanding user behaviors, needs, & motivations & highlighting them across the organization. You will work closely with product owners to guide the direction & influence of Research & product improvements - staying involved with the product teams & maximizing their ability to understand & act upon customer needs.
You will report directly to the Senior UX Research Manager in our NYC headquarters. This is a hybrid role working from our NYC office 2 days per week.

- Identify opportunities that inspire change within major areas of business while executing & informing research on a Group & team level.
- Build & nurture partnerships with product managers, designers, data scientists, analysts, & engineers at all levels.
- Lead end-to-end, high impact exploratory research while simultaneously teaching & helping cross-functional teams conduct lightweight research on their own.
- Present to leadership & find compelling ways to illustrate research findings in order to influence stakeholders & product roadmaps.
- Advocate for research within the organization & on your teams by guiding stakeholders toward the best areas of study, methodologies, & a shared understanding of our users.
- Identify patterns in research happening across teams & establish core insights that impact ongoing prioritization.
Who We're Looking For
- 7+ years of prior UX Research work experience. Previous education & training taken into consideration.
- Deep understanding of UX/Design research methods, knowing when & how to apply different methods & customize them to teams' needs & constraints.
- Experience owning mixed-methods research end-to-end & driving the evolution of multiple projects at a time to influence product & teams' directions.
- Track record of proactively identifying new initiatives that help establish the roadmap & strategy of multiple feature areas & improve team productivity & process.
- Effectively able to instruct non-researchers on research fundamentals & best practices when conducting lightweight research.
- Comfortable providing focus & direction to multiple stakeholders when faced with ambiguity & technological constraints.
- Familiarity with analytics & quantitative research & comfortability working alongside quantitative research partners.
- Experience working B2B / Enterprise.

Cash Compensation Range: $154,000 - $210,000 USD
The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, & location, among other factors.
In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include on-target commissions or overtime pay), Squarespace employees are eligible to be granted an option to purchase our common stock.
