As a Senior Backend Engineer at Via, youll work within our core R&D center to design, develop, implement, maintain & troubleshoot in a cutting-edge environment. Within Vias infrastructure, youll focus on building optimized, scalable & innovative designs.
What You'll Do:
- Be responsible for implementing microservices from design to production.
- Take ownership of development, maintenance, testing strategy, design discussions, & operations.
- Participate in all aspects of agile software development including design, implementation, & deployment.
- Responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of new product features / components
- Ensuring application performance, uptime, & scale, maintaining high standards of code quality & thoughtful application design
- Research & suggest new technologies for boosting the product.
- Have an impact on product development by making important technical decisions, influencing the system architecture, development practices & more.
Who You Are:
- Minimum of 6 years of backend development & databases experience
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Python, C++, and Java, or C#
- Solid programming foundations: data-structures, multi-threading, OOP & design patterns
- Proven record of developing & scaling products that are highly available, distributed, & large scale
- Experience with SQL/MySQL & in low level performance optimizations, including profiling & memory analysis
- Expertise with cloud platforms: AWS, Kubernetes
- Clear communication (written & verbal) is crucial to our success. You should be able to formulate your ideas concisely, & communicate complex information succinctly.
- Ability to drive work forward independently in a cross-functional, geographically distributed team environment
Compensation & Benefits:
- Final salary will be determined by the candidates experience, knowledge, & skills. Salary reflected does not include equity or variable pay, where applicable
- Salary Range: $160,000-$200,000 per year
