About the Role

iCapital is looking to hire a Vice President, Structured Investments & Annuities Coverage Attorney, to join the Legal team.  The ideal candidate is an attorney with experience with financial products, including structured investments, as well as in-depth knowledge of the laws, rules, & regulations applicable to such products.  This role will work closely with the structured investment & annuities business lines, & other attorneys within our Legal & Compliance teams.  

Responsibilities

• Negotiate complex agreements with counterparties, including structured investment & annuity product issuers, as well as financial institution users of iCapitals web-based structured investments & annuities platform.
• Assess & mitigate legal, regulatory, & reputational risk with respect to product offerings & financial technology services.
• Work closely & collaborate with, & provide advice to, the structured investments & annuities business teams on strategic initiatives & day-to-day matters.
• Analyze cross-border legal & regulatory requirements & provide advice to the business teams on such requirements.  

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience within financial services
• Strong knowledge of the Securities Act of 1933, the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, & FINRA rules
• Member in good standing of New York Bar or another state or jurisdiction
• Law firm or in-house experience at a broker-dealer, including supporting a structured product desk, is a plus
• Strong interpersonal & leadership skills
• Willingness to learn new topics & work in an evolving business environment
• Organized & detail-oriented with big picture capability

Benefits

The base salary range for this role is $180,000 to $220,000.  iCapital offers a compensation package which includes salary, equity for all full-time employees, & an annual performance bonus.
