Squarespace Domains is looking for a Frontend Staff Software Engineer to lead org-wide initiatives. Squarespace Domains supports millions of Domains customers a community of dreamers, entrepreneurs, & users all aiming to establish their online presence - you'll work on products used by millions, with a direct & measurable impact on their success.

This is a hybrid role working from our New York City office 3 days per week. You will report to the Senior Engineering Manager of Domains in NYC.

You'll Get To

• Serve as a technical leader, driving the architecture, design, & implementation of critical frontend systems & client platforms
• Provide hands-on guidance to multiple engineering teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, & maintainable frontend solutions
• Design advanced user interfaces & reusable components using modern frameworks & libraries
• Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, & backend engineers to build new features
• Be a mentor for junior & mid-level engineers, encouraging a culture of learning
• Guide architectural decisions & lead technical discussions to ensure the long-term health of our frontend platform
• Promote best practices in code quality, accessibility, performance, & testing.
• Stay current with latest trends & technologies, & identify opportunities for innovation

Who We're Looking For

• Have 8+ years of professional experience in frontend web development
• Have experience designing & implementing complex & scalable web applications, in collaboration with multiple teams & partners
• Have experience with HTML5, CSS3, & modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular
• Understand web performance, security, & accessibility principles
• Familiar with server-side rendering (SSR) & static site generation (SSG)
• Familiar with cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud, AWS, Azure).

Cash Compensation Range: $185,500 - $299,000 USD

The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, & location, among other factors.

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include on-target commissions or overtime pay), Squarespace employees are eligible to receive an incentive award as part of their total compensation.
