You are invited to join Bloomberg, Cornell Tech, & Tech:NYC for the latest installment of the CornellTech@Bloomberg series, featuring Brian S. Cohen, Founding Partner at New York Venture Partners & Chairman of New York Angels, the most active angel investing group in North America.

The venture capital industry has recently been rocked by tremendous consolidation & transformation. The rise of angel investing - or entrepreneurial finance - is one of the biggest changes to venture investing, as it offers high net worth individuals access to new investment & mentorship opportunities. And while venture capital dries up, angel investing continues growing at a rapid pace. Beyond capital, angel investing is also considered by some to be the backbone of our economy since it cultivates entrepreneurship, promotes job growth, & offers hands-on mentorship for new businesses.

Brian Cohen is considered a pioneer in angel investing, having spent more than 40 years as a professional investor & entrepreneur. Brian has seen several noteworthy successes throughout his career; he was the first investor in Pinterest, as well as numerous other industry-leading startups. Today, Brian is an active Chairman of New York Angels, the largest & most active technology-focused angel investment organization in the country. In addition, he is a founding partner of New York Venture Partners. A prolific angel investor, educator, & mentor, Brian has played a vital role in the development of New York's entrepreneurial & investment ecosystem. His mentorship, insight, & passion for fostering community among startups has propelled countless entrepreneurs, which in turn, has influenced new business development & job creation.

Brian will be joined on stage with Bloomberg's own Scarlet Fu to discuss the rise of angel investing - what works & what doesn't - as well as other insights from his entrepreneurial career.
