<P>We will be hosting this featured internet awareness and charity event<STRONG>Wednesday, December 3rd</STRONG>at<A HREF="http://www.landmarktheatres.com/market/NewYork/SunshineCinema.htm" REL="nofollow">Sunshine Cinema</A>.</P>
<P>The night will consist of a cocktail hour, insights from Toby Daniels (main curator of<A HREF="http://socialmediaweek.org/on-the-future-of-now/" REL="nofollow">On! The Future of Now</A>) and a private screening of the documentary:<A HREF="http://webthefilm.com/" REL="nofollow">Web, The Film</A>. The event will wrap up with a Q&A session with Toby Daniels, Founder of Social Media Week, and producers of the film.</P>

<P>WEB is a feature-length documentary film about the intersection of the Internet, interdependence, and personal connections. For 10 months, Director Michael Kleiman lived in small villages in the Andes Mountains and Amazon Jungle in Peru. While there, he lived with families and documented the villagers' first experience with computers and the Internet via the One Laptop per Child program.</P>
<P>As the children and their parents engage with communications technologies for the first time, the film is a deeply relevant consideration of the digital world we find ourselves in, the tremendous implications we are beginning to see all around us, and the changing definition of connection - both remote technological connection and face-to-face human connection. With interviews from luminaries like Vint Cerf (co-inventor of the Internet) Jimmy Wales (founder of Wikipedia), Nicholas Negroponte, and writer Clay Shirky, WEB explores the possibilities that emerge when the disconnected get online, and what it means for our future.</P>
