DETAILS

Join us for "Power Panels: Navigating Career Pivots," an inspiring conversation hosted by Georgia Rounder at Fabrik DUMBO in Brooklyn. We'll kick things off with casual networking, giving you the chance to connect with fellow professionals & panelists before diving into the main event.

Our panel discussion will feature trailblazing leaders who have successfully navigated major career pivots. Whether you're considering a new industry, stepping into a different function, or exploring an entirely new path, this panel will offer candid insights, lessons learned, & actionable advice to help you take the leap with confidence.

Agenda:

6:30 - 7:00PM: Networking

7:00 - 8:00PM: Panel Discussion

8:00 - 8:30PM: Networking

MODERATOR:

Kara Tullman: Kara is thrilled to be moderating the first rendition of Power Panels. Kara spent the first several years of her career in multichannel marketing, designing media plans for global advertisers on Cond Nast publications & scaling a company in tech from 120 to 1000 employees through strategic brand building. A mix of curiosity & pandemic existentialism promoted a career pivot, landing her in Sweden to obtain a Masters in Applied Cultiral Analysis. She now works as a cultural researcher helping brands answer the big questions, like what does modern girlhood look like? & what makes a better life at home?

PANELISTS:

Allison Yamamoto: Allison is a former LinkedIn engineering manager turned product leader, now founder in the women's health space. Her career spans high-growth roles across tech & healthcare-from building growth products at Oscar Health to leading product at a climate tech startup & serving as fractional CPO at a behavioral health company. With each pivot-across function, stage, & industry-she's leaned into curiosity, impact, & values-alignment. She now helps active women navigate hormonal health challenges through an evidence-driven company she founded at the intersection of tech & care.

Brittany Blumenthal: Brittany is a designer, creative, & deeply visual person who's always finding new outlets for expression. From branding & web design to food photography & creative strategy, her work has spanned industries-but creativity has always been at the core.

Samantha Khan: Sam is living proof that every career transition doesn't mean starting from scratch. With a path that spans beauty, entertainment, & veterinary medicine-and roles from marketing to performing to operations to branding-she's learned how to carry forward the best of each chapter into the next. Her ability to translate experience across industries led her to employer brand roles at HBO, WarnerMedia, Warner Bros. Discovery, & now VEG ER for Pets, where she leads employer branding & helps tell the stories of people doing unexpected things in their careers. Her approach to change is equal parts practical & creative, offering inspiration & practical wisdom to anyone reimagining their career while honoring where they've been.

Sherene Strausberg: Sherene is a unique creative, combining her experience in film, music, & sound engineering with graphic design & illustration to create animated videos for her clients at the company she founded, 87th Street Creative. Having won a national composition competition in high school, she was awarded a scholarship to the prestigious Indiana University School of Music, where she completed two bachelor's degrees in four years. Film scores she wrote in her first career, as a film composer, have been heard on AMC, Spike TV, & Netflix. Her passion project, the short, animated film Cool For You, which she animated & scored, has been accepted to over 40 film festivals around the world. 87th Street Creative has done projects for Walmart, American Express, & Calendly. Sherene received an Emmy-Nomination for Art Direction in 2022. She lives in Port Washington with her husband & 3 children.

We look forward to seeing you there!
