You are invited to the inaugural Broadway Climate Summit, a one-day summit in NYC, bringing together theater professionals & climate advocates to reimagine an industry that prioritizes sustainability, climate storytelling, & theater as a cultural movement for our planet.
We're building a coalition of people in Broadway & the theater industry at large who are thinking at these intersections. Beyond this launch, we're looking for collaborators, friends, & people who want to be part of this wider movement. We'd love to meet you.
Proudly sponsored by Climate Power.
Doors open at 10:30am. Programming starts at 11am. Lunch is provided with purchase of a daytime pass. Event concludes at 5pm.
Highlights of panel & workshop topics include:
Creating Climate Theater from West End to Broadway
Sustainable Production Toolkit
Artivism: Climate Leaders & Creative Practice
A Thriving Theater Industry: Reimagining the Future
Writing Climate Narratives
Full schedule of programming to be released soon.
The daytime pass gives access to the full programming of panels, workshops, & short performances. Hear from theater makers infusing climate into their works, including award-winning playwright Carson Grace Becker (Pangaea), Amy Berryman (Walden), & LubDub Theatre Co (To Tell A Story About the Earth, A Play for the Living in a Time of Extinction). Experience excerpts of theater pieces informed by climate. Dive into actionable sustainability solutions to bring to your productions & arts organizations with a workshop led by the Sustainable Production Toolkit, IATSE United Scenic Artists 829, Materials for the Arts, & other leaders in the field.
All workshops must be reserved separately from this page, but price of admission is included in the daytime pass. An email with instructions will be sent as soon as the lineup of workshops is released. All workshops are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
For those who do not wish to purchase a daytime pass, but still wish to attend:
Tickets for individual workshops will go on sale closer to the event (subject to availability).
