Event Description
New York is getting its first VC hackathon, & you're building for the people who write the checks.
Deal Flow is a one-day, in-person hackathon hosted by localhost:nyc & VCLab. You get 9 hours to build working products for the real problems VCs face every day. Partners from NYC's top funds judge live, & the best teams leave with intros to those funds.
Problem Statement
Venture capital runs on spreadsheets, gut feel & endless inbox triage. Firms move billions of dollars with tools that haven't changed in a decade. Your challenge is to build software that helps VCs find better companies, make faster decisions & support their founders after the check clears.
The Challenge Theme
Sourcing: finding breakout founders before everyone else does
Diligence: market maps, competitive analysis & memo drafting
Portfolio ops: helping funds support their companies at scale
LP reporting: making fund updates less painful & more useful
Deal pipeline & CRM workflows that VCs will actually use
What to Expect
9 hours of focused building, 9 AM to 6 PM
Real VC problems, with investors in the room to test your ideas against
Teams of 4
Time to meet founders, engineers & investors from across NYC
Live demos to a panel of VC judges at the end of the day
Food & drinks all day
Prizes
Winners get intros to the funds in the room + other prizes to be announced.
Judges
Abeera Saeed is the Ventures Principal at Plug & Play, investing in Enterprise & AI B2B SaaS companies from Pre-Seed to Series A.
Michael Barone - Investment Analyst at Everywhere Ventures, a global pre-seed venture capital firm.
D. J. Patel - VC | 3x exited founder.
Radhika Khandelwal builds AI agents for a living as a product leader at Wand AI, & she's spent years in the VC world seeing what makes startups stick. She'll want to see both slick code & a real business.
