With so many options, users expect the highest quality experience possible powered by the latest technologies in encoding, content protection, & media delivery.

Title: HLS & DASH Multi Codec VOD Encoding & Packaging @ fuboTV
Presenter: Nick Krzemienski, Software Engineer, Video Encoding, fuboTV

Recently at fuboTV we took our VOD encoding in house rather than just paying a managed provider to handle. This is the story of how we enabled multi codec (h264/h265) codecs in production for both 4k VOD assets & 1080p. What was the process like to build out each variation. What were the random non compatible things that showed up from players & how we tackled them

Talk 3- 7:00 to 7:15
Title: Counting video viewers in real-time
Presenter: Jim Pastos, Software Engineer, Live Platform, Facebook
Having a real-time viewer count displayed on a video, particularly live broadcasts, enhances the viewing experience by creating a sense of presence. Videos become more social & viewers feel they are part of a larger group. In this talk we'll go over various ways on how this problem could be approached & what trade-offs are required at scale.
