Join us at the Asia Society for an inspiring conversation with two of the most influential business trailblazers of our time, Sheila Lirio Marcelo & Indra Nooyi. This event will delve into their remarkable journeys, highlighting their groundbreaking achievements & the unique challenges they have faced. They will share their personal histories, professional milestones, & strategies that have defined their careers. The two speakers will also discuss the pivotal moments that shaped their paths, the obstacles they overcame, & the lessons they learned along the way.

Sheila Lirio Marcelo has more than 20 years of leadership experience in internet consumer marketplace businesses, including as the Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer of Ohai.ai, a cutting-edge technology startup leveraging generative AI to improve the lives of families. She was a former Venture Partner at New Enterprise Associates & is a founding board member of The Asian American Foundation. She previously founded Care.com in 2006 & took it public in 2014; she was Chairwoman & CEO until early 2020, when the company was sold to IAC. She has been honored with numerous accolades. She was on Forbes 50 Over 50, she was one of Fortune's "Top 10 Women Entrepreneurs" & appeared at Fortune's Most Powerful Women Summit. She is a Henry Crown Fellow with the Aspen Institute, a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum, & a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. She earned a B.A. from Mount Holyoke College, which also conferred upon her an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters in 2015. She has a J.D. & M.B.A. with honors from Harvard University. In 2014, Marcelo became the youngest recipient of the Harvard Business School Alumni Achievement Award.

Indra Nooyi served as CEO & chairman of PepsiCo from 2006 to 2019. During her tenure, the company's shareholder returns exceeded that of the S&P 500. She served as a member of the PepsiCo Board of Directors from 2001 to February 2019. Today, she is a member of the board of Amazon, the supervisory board of Philips, a member of the International Advisory Council of Temasek, & a member of the Advisory Board of Apollo Investment. She is on the Dean's Advisory council at MIT's School of Engineering & also serves on the boards of the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, & the Board of Trustees of the National Gallery of Art. From 2019-2022, she served as the Class of 1951 Chair for the Study of Leadership at West Point where she worked with the Department of Behavioral Sciences & Leadership to fulfill the mission of character at the U.S. Military Academy. She was also co-chair of The Reopen Connecticut Advisory Group, developing recommendations & guidelines for reactivating the state's economy post-pandemic. She is the author of the book My Life in Full: Work, Family & Our Future, a memoir that offers insight & a call-to-action on how our society can blend work & family - & advance women - in the 21st century, a New York Times bestseller & available in multiple languages. She is the recipient of 18 honorary degrees. In 2007, the Government of India awarded her the Padma Bhushan, the country's 3rd highest civilian honor, & in that same year, named an Outstanding American by choice by the Department of Homeland Security/US Citizenship & Immigration Services. In 2019, her portrait was inducted into the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery, & in 2022 she was inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame. She is a member of the American Academy of Arts of Sciences, the New York Academy of Science, & the American Philosophical Society. She holds a B.S. from Madras Christian College, an M.B.A. from the Indian Institute of Management in Calcutta, & a Master of Public & Private Management from Yale University.

Vicky Nguyen (moderator) is NBC News Daily Anchor & NBC News Chief Consumer Investigative Correspondent in New York. She is author of Boat Baby: A Memoir, which tells the story of her family's daring escape from communist Vietnam & her unlikely journey from refugee to reporter. She joined NBC News in April 2019 as the Investigative & Consumer correspondent, with her reporting been seen on The Today Show, 3rd Hour Today, Nightly News with Lester Holt, NBC News Now, & MSNBC. Prior to moving to New York, she worked the NBC Bay Area, KNTV in the San Francisco Bay Area. There she served as a senior investigative reporter for the NBC Bay Area Investigative Unit & Anchor of the Sunday evening news. Before joining NBC Bay Area, she worked at various television stations in Florida, Nevada, & Arizona.

Anu Seghal is a children's author & the Founder/CEO of The Culture Tree, the largest cultural literacy & language education company for kids focusing on South Asia. Anu believes awareness of one's heritage, culture, & language is key for children to become self-aware & confident individuals. She holds an MBA from Yale University & has worked in the corporate sector for almost 15 years. She has received several awards & recognitions for her work in cultural literacy.
