Consider there are approximately 1.5 billion pounds of HFCs within the installed base here in the United States. That total exceeds over 10 years of manufacturing new refrigerant, many of which are then released to the atmosphere because no one cared, no one measured, & no one followed the Federal law. Reclaimed refrigerants are 100% US based, have less than one third the carbon intensity relative to just the production of the refrigerants, ignoring the emissions from mining & refining requirements to production.
