Miramar is officially the first military base with commercial 5G connection, opening up more avenues for operability, sustainability, & mobility. Join us for a conversation about energy resilience in tactical spaces, exploring what 5G & edge computing are unlocking on base.

Verizon 5G Labs
Dominic Bonaduce serves as a Program Manager within the Verizon 5G Labs team where he focuses on Local, State, & Federal Government initiatives. Located in Washington, DC, he leads the 5G First Responder Lab program & supports Verizon's efforts at the 5G Living Lab at Marine Corps Airstation Miramar. Prior to joining Verizon, he was a member of the Senior Executive Service within the United States Department of Transportation where he served as Director of Operations under United States Secretary of Transportation, Elaine Chao. There he supported a wide range of initiatives ranging from media & communications to the integration of Unmanned Aircraft Services into US airspace & autonomous vehicles onto our roads. Originally from Los Angeles, CA he is an avid cyclist & outdoorsman but you can find him gaming behind a controller or keyboard as well.

Major Steven Harvey is the Director of the NavalX SoCal Tech Bridge. His passion is tapping into the creativity of the Naval workforce to identify opportunities to create strategic partnerships between government, industry, & academia. He believes that by fostering a collaborative market of ideas around commercial dual use technologies, the Naval Force can accelerate the adoption of new products & practices. Steve earned an M.S. in Information Technology Management from the Naval Postgraduate School & is a graduate of the Centers for Adaptive Warfighting Military Scrum Master & Warfighter Centered Design courses. In his free time, Steve studies emerging technologies & organizational leadership, & enjoys hiking, paddle boarding, & camping with his family.
Cynthia Slowik
Innovation Manager
Verizon 5G Labs
Cynthia Slowik is an Innovation Manager for the 5G Lab in NYC. She's responsible for live virtual event programming, innovation workshops, & supporting co-creation initiatives across the NYC & Verizon innovation ecosystem. Most recently she executed an event series partnership with WXR to highlight relevant XR topics in a variety of virtual platforms. Notable work achievements from producing NYCxDESIGN, New York City's official Design Week' & an active mentor for several highly-regarded tech accelerators such as Barclay's Accelerator, powered by Techstars & hardware tech Futureworks incubator programs.
Marissa Brand
Project Manager
NIWC Pacific
Ms. Brand has over 30 years with NIWC Pacific working as scientist for Code 71750. Currently Program Manager for ONR's $6.7M NextSTEP (Next Strategic Technology Evaluation Program) overseeing 50 projects from NAVFAC EXWC, NPS, & SSC Pacific. Thirteen years direct experience in avian radar research applications & provides overall technical coordination among investigators & liaison to military collaborators.
