After becoming disabled in 2012, Liz Jackson began to wonder why her eyeglasses were fashionable when her cane was not. This question ultimately led Liz to found The Disabled List, a disability self advocacy organization that focuses on design. The Disabled List is a curated list of creative disabled people who are available to consult, collaborate & support brands that are interested in reaching their disabled consumers. The DL is shifting the disability narrative by ensuring disabled people are treated as the experts in disability. And through a program called WITH, The DL is creating new pathways into design for disabled people.
Liz Jackson has been a TED Resident, a Nantucket Project Scholar & SYPartners Fellow. Her TED Talk is called Blitzing the Fashion Industry'. She has also spoken at 99U, The White House, Parsons, National Academy of Sciences, SXSW, Chicago Humanities Festival, The Nantucket Project & more. Her work has been featured in the New York Times, the New Yorker, NPR, The Guardian, Buzzfeed & more.
The Disabled List (formerly Inclusive Fashion & Design Collective) debuted at the White House on September, 2016.

Live dance performance by Jerron Herman
Jerron Herman is a Dancer & Administrator primarily for Heidi Latsky Dance where he's been a proud principal member since 2011. Jerron has been featured with the company at venues like Lincoln Center, American Dance Festival, & the Whitney Museum. Jerron currently sits on the Board of Trustees at Dance/USA & has sat on various symposium panels. He was featured most recently in a profile on dancing with Cerebral Palsy by Great Big Story. He's also a proud member of The Disabled List & ABS' Art & Disability Residency. As a writer, he was named a finalist for the Inaugural Apothetae/Lark Play Development Lab Fellowship & continues to write theater & art criticism. As a model, Jerron shot a special campaign with Tommy Hilfiger & Springible as well as an exploratory shoot for Nike Universal apparel. The New York Times has called him, the inexhaustible Mr. Herman.

About our interpreter: Casey Cutler is originally from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She moved to Brooklyn, New York in 2015. Casey was first exposed to American Sign Language (ASL) in elementary school, because her classes were comprised of 50% Deaf students & 50% hearing students. Casey continued learning ASL in high school, taking ASL for 3 years as her foreign language credit. She decided to major in ASL/English Interpretation when entering college. Casey is a recent graduate of an Interpreter Training Program. She plans to work mainly in legal interpreting settings & go to Law school in the future to become an ADA lawyer for the Deaf.
