EVENT DETAILS
If you work in another creative field & are thinking about exploring a transition to professional podcasting, or if you want to start a podcast in your spare time, this 2-hour course is a great place to start.

There is a major surge of podcast production activity happening in New York, & the audience is growing, too. If you have a story to tell, podcasting is one of the most accessible ways to put your voice & ideas into the world - but that doesn't mean doing it well is simple! If you work in another creative field & are thinking about exploring a transition to professional podcasting, or if you want to start a podcast in your spare time, this 2-hour course is a great place to start. You'll learn which of your existing skills might transfer, & what you need to learn to get the rest of the way there.

Technically, anyone with a computer can record a podcast & publish it on iTunes & other platforms. So many people are starting & stopping a podcast every day, it's become eye-roll inducing. But what are the skills, tools & strategies you need to create truly compelling audio content that can engage an audience? What do you need to know to work in the podcasting field at a professional level? This session will cover that & more. You'll also leave with a list of resources to take advantage of as you get started.

The course is taught by Reva Goldberg, a professional podcast producer who transitioned to the field after several years in independent film as a producer, funder & communications executive.

What You Will Learn
Why creating a quality podcast is harder than it looks/sounds & how to vet your podcast ideas
