Will Cunningham from Agnostiq will be speaking in-person at 6:00pm on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Microsoft mid-town. We'll send out a zoom link when we figure out the logistics.
Abstract:
The HPC landscape is larger, more complex, & more interconnected than ever before. Covalent is an open-source Pythonic tool for heterogeneous HPC & quantum workflow orchestration, designed specifically to make computational research reproducible & manageable. Covalent attaches metadata to workflows as they execute so that users can later inspect everything from source code to data dependencies to software & environments. This information is also provided on a browser-based user interface, where users can easily visualize large & complex workflows distributed across supercomputers, cloud platforms, quantum computers, & more. This talk will focus on use cases in quantum machine learning with an emphasis on highly heterogeneous compute environments.
Bio
Will is the Head of Quantum Software at Agnostiq, where he leads the design & implementation of Covalent. Will received his Ph.D in theoretical physics from Northeastern University under the supervision of Dmitri Krioukov. He subsequently worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Perimeter Institute in the quantum gravity group. He has published articles on a variety of topics, including lattice QCD, multiverse cosmology, causal set & spinfoam quantum gravity, discrete geometry, & machine learning.
