Kimberly Wiefling helps people achieve what seems impossible, but is merely difficult, & she strongly believes that she will be much more effective doing that as an AI-augmented Leader. She's the author of the globally popular book Scrappy Project Management, the founder of Wiefling Consulting, & cofounder of Silicon Valley Alliances. Most of her consulting work for the past 20 years has been facilitating cross-cultural workshop learning labs on leadership, team effectiveness, organizational culture, design thinking, & post-merger integration, with global Japanese companies, including one of the biggest high tech global companies in Japan by market cap.
A physicist by education, she worked at HP for 10 years in 7 different engineering & project management roles, including leading an R&D team launching a new mass spectrometer, then 3 years in Silicon Valley startups leading product development teams in hardware, software, & complex systems involving both. She's worked with 50+ globalizing Japanese companies, & with people from over 50 different countries, helping organizations solve global problems profitably. Kimberly lives & works in Silicon Valley, & has helped to start, run & grow many small businesses, including several that are still alive & profitable, & one of which grew to millions in revenue with only seed funding from her & the other founders.
Kimberly's superpower is turning managers into leaders & groups into true teams who can achieve impossible together. After years of supporting planetary sustainability in volunteer efforts, including facilitating one class each year in a course called Engineering Climate Management & Entrepreneurship at Stanford University's Doerr School of Sustainability, she is pivoting to focus more fully on facilitating breakthroughs in corporate sustainability that benefit Our World. Kimberly has been described as a force of nature, & is determined to use that force, in partnership with the incredibly powerful AI tools that are available to humans now, to make a significant positive impact on our world & create a sustainable future for Planet Earth.
