The Data for Good Exchange is part of a long Bloomberg tradition of advocacy for using data science & human capital to solve problems at the core of society. Check back regularly for updates. #d4gx

On Sunday, September 16, 2018, we will reconvene for the 5th edition of the Data for Good Exchange in order to strengthen our community. The overall theme for this year's gathering will be Our Data for Good? or how data scientists, corporations, policy makers & researchers can collaborate on data science projects that result in positive social outcomes, ensuring that the data science we practice focuses on everyone having a stake, making it solid, fair, & equitable.

The data revolution has enabled businesses to provide new products & better service, at a lower cost, & to more customers, at a scale of change unseen since the Industrial Revolution. While the corporate sector has effectively engaged the academic community in leveraging data to solve their business challenges, the public & non-profit sectors have seen comparatively fewer practical applications of data science methods to improve civic & social outcomes.

Since 2014, Bloomberg has hosted an annual conference related to the applications of data science to address problems related to the social good. This forum has brought together participants from across academia, industry, government & NGOs, enabling them to share insights & progress on applying modern machine learning & data science methods to social problems.
