This session will cover one woman's Product Management journey in consumer packaged goods bringing physical products to life across a variety of categories from Beauty to Luggage to Pet. We'll be covering how ideas & concepts become reality, how a PM works cross-functionally with multiple disciplines to keep a project flowing, & how a PM continues to iterate & improve upon products after they've made it to consumers' hands.Key takeaways:- Ample project time & team focus for a given project is critical for successful product launches- Organization & a super strong attention to detail are skills a PM & their team cannot function without- Highly important for a PM to be a great Generalist--one who is knowledgable about many facets of the business in order to problem-solve effectively with the right core team members
Meet the Speaker: Becca Elman
Becca is a retail professional with management experience across multiple business functions in the world of consumer packaged goods. She moved to Los Angeles in June 2015 to join Beach House Group as employee #2 in charge of developing socially-conscious brands from design concepts through to the hands of consumers in categories such as Beauty, Hair Accessories, Luggage, & Pet. Prior to BHG she developed digital marketing expertise at an advertising agency in Chicago & worked in Minneapolis for Target as a Sr. Merchandise Planning Business Analyst buying Healthcare products to be sold in stores across the nation. Becca originally hails from Chicago, IL, & graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in International Relations & a minor in French. She currently lives in Los Angeles, CA.
