Urban Tech's Annual Gala raises much-needed funding to deliver its Adopt-A-School program across the country, fulfilling their mission to educate, empower & prepare youth from undeserved communities for the technology jobs of the 21st century. Past honorees have included: Dr. Shirley Jackson, Crystal McCrary & Ray McGuire, Hugh Price, Carol & Bill Lewis, Bruce Mosler, Carl Spielvogel, Christopher Williams, & Annette Bening.
About Urban Tech:
Urban Tech is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit educational corporation with a mission to close the achievement divide in low- income communities by providing access to computer training, vocational skills, & financial literacy programs. By addressing the social & emotional issues that create barriers to success, Urban Tech has provided residents with the resources necessary to achieve academic & long-term economic security. This year, Urban Tech launched Dignity for All (DFA), a trauma- informed bully prevention program to support students, teachers & parents in examining their core values & beliefs & learn the important of relationships for creating a safe & supportive climate for education.
