Keeping yourself, your customers, & your data safe in an era with GDPR by Ron Chichester, J.D., CISA
The European General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") is the successor to the "European Directive" & governs the privacy of data for European residents. GDPR is more stringent than the prior European Directive and, with the increased use of data for data science & machine learning, will have a significant impact on data scientists & AI developers -- including those based in the U.S. Ronald Chichester will provide a brief description of GDPR, & describe the impart that GDPR will have on data scientists, including those who work in the U.S.

Bios:

Ronald Chichester is an attorney, data scientist, expert witness, & Python developer. His software development concentrates on AI for legal applications, as well as smart contracts & blockchain-based digital corporations. Ron is Chair of the Blockchain Committee of the Business Law Section of the Texas Bar, & has appeared on panels as an expert in artificial intelligence. blockchains & encryption for the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas, & the Texas Legislature. Before becoming an attorney, Ron was an aerospace engineer in the defense industry. He holds a bachelors & a masters degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Michigan, & a juris doctorate from the University of Houston. Ron is a member of the State Bar of Texas, & has been admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. He is also a certified computer forensic examiner & a certified information systems auditor.
