Join us for the Hyperledger NYC Meetup on Wednesday, May 15 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the PwC Offices located on the 9th Floor of 90 Park Ave. Leaders from the Hyperledger team will introduce our projects & guide you through how to get involved contributing code, utilizing Hyperledger tools, joining our working groups & the benefits of membership. We will also have representatives from each framework discussing the design intent & core features of the projects. There will also be a breakout session for deeper discussion with the speakers & networking with the community.

Speaker Bios

Swetha Repakula, Open Source Contributor, IBM Open Technology
Swetha Repakulais a software engineer working in IBM's Open Technologies division. Since late 2017, she has been working on Hyperledger Fabric, an open source blockchain platform on its EVM integration. Previously she was a full-time open source contributor for Cloud Foundry. Swetha holds a BS in electrical engineering & computer science from UC Berkeley.

Dr. Ales Zivkovic, CTO
Dr. Ales Zivkovic is the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at the Soramitsu Labs & is a part time instructor at Penn State University. As the CTO, Ales is responsible for the contributions to the Hyperledger Iroha & several large-scale blockchain projects including retail payment system for central banks, D3Ledger - Infrastructure for Servicing Digital Assets & Sora.org, a decentralized autonomous economy (DAE). Being in IT for more than 20 years, Ales has successfully cooperated on many challenging IT projects, performed IT audits of mission-critical information systems in different domains including insurance, financial institutions, government, & IT companies. He has also been involved as a member of the expert witness team in several prominent information security fraud court cases. Before joining Soramitsu Labs, Ales was the Innovation Officer at Nova KBM, the second largest bank in Slovenia & a member of the Supervisory Board at the Slovenian Press Agency responsible for information technology.

Casey Kuhlman, CEO
Casey Kuhlman is the CEO of Monax a blockchain-based contract management system for small businesses. Prior to co-founding Monax, Casey was the head of legal information systems at the US Open Data Institute. A lawyer & international development practitioner for nearly a decade, Casey has worked extensively in the Horn of Africa, including co-founding the first law firm in Somaliland. Casey has also been a New York Times bestselling author, an infantry officer in the Marines, & is an avid participant in open source software development.
