What happens when job candidates use AI bots to find jobs, write resumes, prepare for interviews, & even submit applications automatically-while employers simultaneously deploy AI bots to screen candidates, conduct interviews, rank applicants, & make hiring recommendations?
We are rapidly entering a world where the first interaction between employer & candidate may not involve a human being at all.
This provocative presentation explores the emerging collision between artificial intelligence, employment practices, & the legal system itself. Drawing on a remarkable real-world experience report involving AI-driven interactions, we will examine how AI is reshaping every stage of the employment lifecycle-from job hunting & candidate screening to dispute resolution & litigation.
Among the topics we will explore:
The rise of AI-powered job seekers & autonomous career agents
AI-driven candidate screening, interviewing, & hiring decisions
The growing "AI vs. AI" hiring ecosystem, where bots increasingly interact with other bots before humans become involved
Transparency, fairness, bias, explainability, & accountability challenges in AI-assisted employment decisions
The surprisingly low barriers to initiating lawsuits in the digital era & the growing phenomenon of nuisance & troll litigation
How generative AI is transforming legal research, case preparation, evidence analysis, & litigation strategy
The future of AI-generated claims, AI-generated defenses, & AI-assisted legal proceedings
The broader societal implications when algorithms participate in both hiring decisions & legal disputes arising from those decisions
As AI adoption accelerates, organizations face a difficult balancing act: leveraging automation for efficiency while navigating unprecedented legal, ethical, & regulatory risks. At the same time, candidates must learn how to compete-and sometimes collaborate-with increasingly sophisticated AI systems that influence employment outcomes. Recent reporting shows that AI interviews, AI recruiters, & AI screening systems are rapidly moving from experimentation into mainstream hiring practice.
This session will feature a distinguished panel of two highly experienced attorneys whose collective expertise spans artificial intelligence, intellectual property, employment law, HR technology, & the legal implications of AI-enabled workforce management. Together, they will provide practical insights into the opportunities, risks, & emerging legal precedents that organizations, HR leaders, technologists, attorneys, & job seekers need to understand.
The future may not be human versus machine.
It may be AI versus AI-with humans left to determine the rules.
