Jer Thorp will join us to to share how his diverse practice has brought him from the bustling newsroom of The New York Times to a submersible in the inky depths of the Gulf ofMexico; from the gleaming white galleries of MoMA to the mine-ridden highlands of Angola. In this talk, Jer will share a variety of projects, including recent workwith the Library of Congress, National Geographic & The Times Square Alliance. Jer will discuss hisevolving practice combining data with art & science, & will propose ways for science communicators to move beyond charts & graphs.
