EVENT DETAILS
If you are looking for study materials, we will be progressing through these online lessons together on wwcode.slack.com on the #sf-js-study-group channel. (If you don't have access, DM Aditi or Alina on meetup.com a few days before, & we'll send you an invite.) We will not be using Zoom. If you're more advanced, work on whatever you like or jump in to help beginners.

Free Intro to Git Tutorial: https://www.udemy.com/course/learngit/

We strongly recommend starting the tutorials *before* the event, so that you can come to the study group with questions.

** You must have basic command line knowledge before learning git version control. **
Prerequisites for Intro to Git (work on one of these instead if you need to catch up):
- Learn The Linux Command Line: Basic Commands: https://www.udemy.com/course/command-line/
- Command Line Arguments for Beginners: https://www.udemy.com/course/command-line-arguments-for-beginners/

Overview

We're a group of women who want to learn JavaScript together. We welcome people of all levels. Beginners are especially encouraged. You move at your own pace in this group, so it doesn't matter if you are a fast or slow learner, or if you attend every week. Meet us on wwcode.slack.com on the #sf-js-study-group channel. If you don't have access, DM Aditi or Alina on meetup.com a few days before, & we'll send you an invite.

Format

We generally start introductions around 6:00pm & then work on coding problems or projects, independently or with others. Although the focus is on JavaScript, we also cover closely related topics such as HTML & CSS & other web technologies.

There will typically be more experienced coders available to help beginners with what they are stuck on.

(The only tools you need to start using JavaScript are a web browser & optionally a simple text editor or code editor.)
