7:00 PM: Fireside chat with LOVC's Founding Partner, Mark Volchek, & USV Partner, Jared Hecht. The discussion will revolve around fundraising tips, strategies for raising extension rounds, follow-on capital, & balancing growth & fundraising efforts. LOVC is an early-stage venture capital fund investing exclusively in B2B software companies based in the Eastern US. Founded in 2016 by former entrepreneurs, LOVC is now investing out of its $50M Fund II & typically leads $3-7M rounds with $1.5-3.5M checks. As active lead investors with a concentrated early-stage portfolio, they provide their founders with tailored strategic & operational support & guidance. Union Square Ventures is a generalist venture capital firm & collegial partnership based in New York City. They are generalist investors, working across many sectors & technologies, but with a consistent point of view on how to approach transformative opportunities. USV also typically acts as lead or co-lead investors, taking an active role in company development. USV invests at the edge of large markets being transformed by technological & societal pressures. Their guiding investment thesis has emerged over 20 years of investing in & supporting companies & protocols that invent new forms of opportunity & solve important problems in new ways.
