"A collection of past, present, & future career builders"
THE NETWORK is an opportunity for learners from the FIT Center for Continuing & Professional Studies & Design Entrepreneurs to make connections, build relationships, develop contacts, & gain information useful to getting ahead in business.
This event is open to current Fashion Institute of Technology students & our alumni of Brand Management Experience, Data Analytics: Retail Marketing, Omni-Channel Retail, Creative Enterprise Ownership, & FIT's Design Entrepreneurs programming. This exciting new gathering meets once a semester in spring, summer, & fall terms.
Please join us for our second networking event, plus a conversation with branding specialists Dr. Arthur Winters & Professor Peggy Winters, moderated by crisis managment expert David Helfenbein. The topic of discussion will be Protecting Your Brand: Crisis Managment 101 for Large & Small Businesses -- what to do when the unthinkable happens.
In this new digital world, we've all seen popular brands hit a brick wall (Adidas, Starbuck's, Lululemon, H & M to name just a few). Sometimes this involves a mega news story (where someone did or said something bad); other times, it's Yelp! ( the bakery that spelled the message wrong on the cake). Join in this conversation with experts on the best ways to not just cope, but overcome.
Dr. Arthur Wintersis Professor Emeritus & founder of the Advertising & Marketing Communications Department at F.I.T. Along with being an educator, Dr. Winters has over 60 year experience as an advertising & marketing communications professional.Professor Peggy Wintershas been a professional & an educator in fashion marketing, advertising & marketing communications for over 40 years.She is the founder of the Internship Department at F.I.T. Combined, the Winters have created academic curriculaand given industry consults & seminars in England, Italy, France, Brazil, Kenya, Korea, Japan, Israel, China, & Russia. They have also authored several books on the topic of Branding & served as collaborators on the Business Certificates Group programs.
David Helfenbeinis a strategic communication & branding expert focused on crisis communication, public affairs, & government relations. He is currently a Senior Vice President at Main & Rose Strategic Branding. Under President Obama, David was appointed Social Media Coordinator for Secretary of State Hillary Clinton & Special Assistant to the Secretary in the Office of White House Liaison, both at the U.S. Department of State, where he helped to rebrand the State Department's web & social presence. Before the State Department, he worked on Clinton's Senate staff, at The Brookings Institution & at MSNBC's Morning Joe. David's background in public relations & communications includes working for Ruder Finn, DKC, & SS+K & for clients such as PBS, FreshDirect, Catholic Charities of NY, Esquire, AARP Bulletin, & more.
