About this event
Hack3D Overview
Hack3D serves to raise awareness & generate discussion in engineering & research communities about security in the additive manufacturing field.

Competitors will have the opportunity to learn & use skills in graphics programming, file manipulation, & reverse engineering while gaining an understanding of the additive manufacturing supply-chain. Students who are interested in learning more about CAD, reverse-engineering, security, & additive manufacturing are encouraged to participate.

Important Dates
Preliminary Round: 26 - 30 July 2021

Finalist Notification: 30 July 2021

Final Round: 2 - 3 August 2021

Competition Eligibility
This competition is open to students enrolled in undergraduate or graduate degree programs from around the world, as well as non-student teams.

Teams who are interested in competing must register prior to 25 July 2021.

Beginning on 26 July 2021, registered teams will be provided with digital access to the preliminary round challenge. All participating teams will have until the 29 July deadline to submit their solution.

Qualification Round Rules for Student Teams
Registration is required & will remain open through 25 July 2021.

Players can compete individually or on a team of up to 4 members.

The challenge is open to anybody including students of any level, working professionals & hobbyists. Teams can have a mix of students & professionals.

The top 3 student teams will be eligible for direct entry to the finals of CSAW Hack3D in November 2021 to win cash prizes. All members of a declared student team must be students enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program.

There is no country limitation & team members do not need to attend the same university/college.

All players must compete under only 1 team name; playing for multiple teams is not permitted.

Teams should work independently; sharing answers privately or publicly, or collaborating with another team to secure multiple spots at Finals constitutes cheating.
