Creating Positive Change & Bringing Equality to Enterprise Technology
Cisco's purpose is to power an inclusive future. In 2020, the world witnessed growing systemic racial injustice, oppression, & inequality. To create positive change, Cisco launched Social Justice Beliefs & Actions to bring equality & opportunities to underrepresented communities.
The Aspire Fund, launched in September 2020 as part of the Social Justice Actions, has accelerated Cisco's commitment to providing capital & access to go-to-market resources to diverse-led startups & venture funds. While Cisco continues to create positive change with the Aspire Fund, there's more work.
On September 8th, Cisco will host the inaugural Magnetic Aspire virtual summit. The one-day summit will bring together leaders across the venture capital & startup ecosystems & Cisco executives engaging in open, honest conversations about:
Why diversity is critical to growing a business
How to build diversity into an organization's DNA
Why investment in diversity & inclusion lifts organizations & communities
With Shari Slate (Chief Inclusion & Collaboration Officer, Cisco), Theresia Gouw (Acrew Capital), Lo Toney (Plexo Capital), Jessica Lin (Co-Founder, Work-Bench), Sol Trujillo (CEO, L'ATTITUDE Ventures), Amanda Gorton (Founder/CEO, Corellium), Derek Idemoto (SVP, Cisco Corp Dev), Shaila Shankar (SVP, Cisco Security Business Group), Janey Hoe (VP, Cisco Corp Dev), Kay Min (Cisco Investments), Saqib Jalil (Cisco Investments).
