Founders & principals of startup companies have to make some critical decisions & take important steps regarding their intellectual property (IP). They need to ensure that the company properly owns and/or has rights to its computer code, content, & website materials. They need to determine whether the company is allowed to use its brand for its products & services & whether the company is properly protecting its inventions & trade secrets. They also need to protect against past employers of a current employee contesting the companys IP. All of this comes up in due diligence with investors, which could adversely affect financing, valuation, execution of the business plan and, ultimately, the exit. In this session, a panel of IP experts will review a range of IP law issues & will guide startup companies as to what actions they should be taking at the earliest stages to avoid IP problems down the road.

This session will include virtual networking & Q&A & will be useful to both startup & established companies.
