Bloomberg, Cornell Tech, & Tech:NYC invite you to join us for the latest installment of the CornellTech@Bloomberg series, featuring Mario Schlosser, co-founder & CEO of Oscar Health. We are in the midst of a fascinating transformation of the healthcare industry. As a traditionally esoteric & fragmented industry, healthcare is ripe for investment & innovation. Rapid growth in connected personal health services, devices, & data are creating opportunities to reimagine aspects of healthcare access & delivery, personal health & fitness, & health data via new digital health practices & technologies. Now, more than ever, digital healthcare is revolutionizing global markets; 2017 saw record levels of investment. More than 188 companies fundraised over $2.5 billion in the first half of last year. One of the most challenging & complex areas of development is a new health insurance model, which has been fueled by demand for a more consumer-oriented marketplace.Led by Mario Schlosser, Oscar Health is a technology-driven, full stack health insurer focused on making healthcare seamless, easy, & affordable for consumers. Amidst the backdrop of political uncertainty & heightened confusion, Schlosser & his team are boldly reimagining healthcare & health insurance by leveraging the power of technology to fuel solutions that simplify the healthcare experience. For Schlosser, it is a moral obligation to insure consumers by empowering them with better tools to make informed decisions about their healthcare. With a focus on data, design, & personalized service, Oscar Health is one of a few insurers that has doubled its footprint & expanded in 2018 to serve members in New York, New Jersey, California, Texas, Nashville & Ohio (in collaboration with the Cleveland Clinic).Schlosser will be joined on stage by Bloomberg's own Scarlet Fu to discuss his entrepreneurial journey, his predictions for the future of digital health, the changing health insurance marketplace & how the healthcare industry can address regulation & privacy concerns.Bloomberg L.P.
