Speaker 1: Andrew Phillips - Learning from Devops: breaking down the wall between developers & Product Management
Description: Our industry realized a few years ago that maintaining barriers between the people who write the code & those who run it doesn't make sense. The organizations that recognized this & have embraced Devops are now struggling with a different wall: between Product Management & Development.
Andrew will talk about some of the reasons behind the "Prod-Dev wall", compare the "Prod-Dev" & "Dev-Ops" divides to see what lessons can be learned, & discuss tools, routines & attitudes that can help start to break it down.
Bio: Andrew is a frequent contributor to the Continuous Delivery & Devops space. He's been a software engineer, team lead, infrastructure builder (a.k.a. head of duct tape) & community evangelist & now works on product management & strategy. Andrew contributes to a number of open-source projects, is a regular speaker & author & co-organizer of ContainerDays Boston & NYC.
