Join StartOut for Peer Pressure, a 1-hour peer-to-peer speed coaching event for professionals of any industry.
About this Event
Join us for Peer Pressure, a 1-hour peer-to-peer speed coaching event. We'll go beyond networking to spark meaningful connections & engage in deeper dialog to navigate our current work situation & career direction.
This event is for professionals looking to skip the idle chat & ask real questions that get to the heart of what matters.
Structure
Get matched with 3 different new friends, meet 1:1 together for 3 x 20 minute breakout sessions, & get to know each other by sharing your story. We'll provide conversation prompts that will help you get to the real talk faster, create meaningful connections, tap into your inner wisdom & maybe even uncover a few blind spots. Then, we'll follow up with everyone's LinkedIn profiles so you can stay in touch.
What you'll work on
Address issues with your new buddy system like: navigating work in a new era, searching for a job, sticky office politics, negotiating a promotion, running a business, managing a team, starting a new project & more. Gain some perspective, get clarity around a professional goal, navigate uncertainty & face work challenges head on.
About this event:
This event draws from peer coaching strategies. Peer coaching is awesome! It's a mutually supportive, powerful form of learning & development where peers work together to reflect, share ideas, teach one another, or solve problems in the workplace.
About the host:
Hi! I'm Tracy. I design strategic programs for client companies who focus on community. In the past I've built experiences for Airbnb, the Downtown Alliance, Girl Scouts, Ketel One, the Brooklyn Museum & more.
I'm also an independent creator, building events & programs including Lady Boss (curated talks & speed mentoring for women & non-binary people), Radical Sabbatical (a creative retreat to take a break & make some progress) & Queer Future (a community for LGBTQIA+ folx to talk about work).
I've also participated in many group coaching, peer-led or cohort-based learning experiences over the years, so I know a lot about collaboration, active listening, asking honest questions, & giving/receiving feedback.
