Boomers, baby boomers, echo baby boomers, Gen X, Gen Y, Gen Z & now Millennials. Ad & consulting folks create these categories, claiming to have unique insights to expand sales. Marketing folks & the media eagerly accept these formulations.

But what happened to the Yuppies? Are companies wasting money chasing millennial customers? How long will millennial be a hot topic for the media? Will Gen minus A be the next fictional market dreamed up by ad folks & consultants?

Cindy Cook is a partner at Metaforce, advising early stage companies on go-to-market strategies. ( She leverages technology to transform business to consumer & business to business experiences in entertainment, education & healthcare. Cindy helped Universal Music Group create the industry's first digital music products; at Vivendi Games she headed strategy & marketing, which developed & operated world leading console, PC & online games; at Cengage, she drove marketing & helped create & launch the MindTap learning platform; & at Elsevier, she ran data-driven marketing across its US Healthcare & Education businesses. Earlier she was at Pepsi & Seagram. Cindy has an MBA from NYU & a BS in Finance from Lehigh University.

Sahand Dilmaghani, Co-Founder & CEO, of Terra Kaffe.( Customers can inexpensively brew espresso using whole coffee beans in Brooklyn based Terra Kaffe's machines, instead of spending $1 per pod per cup in other machines. Sahand has years of global hardware & finance experience - working in Germany & China, as well as doing mergers & acquisitions & private placement advisory work for mid-cap tech-enabled businesses in the U.S. Sahand received his B.Sc. from the University of Virginia & MBA from INSEAD in France.

Doug Brundage, founder Kingsland ( Clients include Depop, Seed, The Paris Review, The Seed Lab + a portfolio of venture backed start-ups. Earlier, for over six years, he was with Team Epiphany, including as Executive Creative Director working with Nike, Google, Lyft, Glenfiddich, Hendrick's Gin, Espolon, Coca-Cola, Unilever & other clients. He has written for HYPEBEAST & Highsnobiety. Doug got his BA from George Washington University.

Heather Myers is the founder & CEO of Spark No. 9, a consulting firm ( that helps its clients build confidence in their target markets, brand positioning, & strategy prior to a launch or pivot through a proprietary ad-testing approach. Past & current clients have targeted everyone from Silents to Gen Z & include TED, Reuters, the School of the New York Times, Funding University, & XED Beverages.
