-------------------------

Emerging Fund Managers, or those managers who generally have less than $100M under management, are managing fewer than three institutional funds, & focused on early or seed-stage ventures, have become one of the fastest-growing segments in the venture capital industry. Many of these managers come from diverse backgrounds and/or are interested in investing in diverse founders. Our conversation will highlight the opportunities & challenges faced by emerging fund managers as they aim to diversify the venture capital funding landscape.

Moderator:

Banu Ozkazanc-Pan: Director of Venture Capital Inclusion Lab

Panelists:

Vonetta Young: Advisor, Investment Readiness + Fund Formation

Gina Kirch: Founding Partner at The Venture Collective (TVC)

This open & imperfect' conversation is calling in all investors, entrepreneurs & community builders who want to support a more diverse & equitable startup ecosystem. We understand diversity reflects more than race & gender & strive to be inclusive of other communities that have been systemically denied access.

This event is part of a series of conversations curated by The Capital Network & The Venture Capital Inclusion Lab titled: Investment & Inclusion - Effective Approaches & Practices

From pipeline, portfolio & performance, this Series will explore how investors can create a more diverse portfolio that will support underrepresented founders while growing their returns. We will look at the data, strategies & DEI best practices around doing so & look to experts who have achieved this.

Want to collaborate /sponsor this series of conversations? Please email us at team@thecapitalnetwork.org for more details!
