About Our Speaker
Barry O'Brien is the Head of Global Passport, part of the Innovation Economy team in Commercial Banking at J.P. Morgan. Barry & the Global Passport team provide a suite of solutions, services & strategic advice to venture firms, VC-backed startups & growth-stage companies expanding into the United States & international markets from innovation centers around the world.
Prior to joining J.P. Morgan, Barry spent a decade with SVB, most recently as the Head of Strategic Investment at SVB Capital. He also managed SVB's relationships with the venture capital divisions of Fortune 500 companies, & was instrumental in setting up the company's Dublin office.
Before joining SVB, Barry was an Officer in the Irish Foreign Service & was posted as Consul to the United States. He began his career at BearingPoint & PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Barry holds bachelor's & MBS degrees from University College Dublin & a Global Executive MBA from the University of Notre Dame. He is from Dublin, Ireland & currently resides in San Francisco.
