A funder dialogue on how philanthropy can resource grassroots movements, solidarity funding infrastructure & climate justice in a time of rising far-right power.
Far-right forces are organizing across borders, attacking land, food systems, rights, democracy & climate justice. Grassroots movements have been building alternatives long before this moment of crisis.
This morning gathering will bring together movement leaders, movement-aligned funding networks, popular finance initiatives & funders for a participatory conversation on how resources can move with greater trust, proximity & solidarity.
The event will include short provocations, space for questions & discussion, & time for connection. Together, we will explore what kinds of funding infrastructure help movements build power, what gets in the way, & how philanthropy can respond with more courage & usefulness in this moment.
Speakers will include:
Loren Cardeli, Executive Director, A Growing Culture
Luis Carlos Costa, Executive Director, FINAPOP
Juliana Tinoco, Co-Founder, Global South House
Mamadou Goita, Executive Director, Institute for Research & Promotion of Alternatives in Development, Mali.
