EVENT DETAILS
Red Hat OpenShift on IBM Cloud is an extension of the IBM Cloud Kubernetes Service, where IBM manages OpenShift Container Platform for you.

With Red Hat OpenShift on IBM Cloud, developers have a fast & secure way to containerize & deploy enterprise workloads in Kubernetes clusters. This session walks through deploying a Java microservice in OpenShift on IBM Cloud. It can often be a challenge to figure out the right place to start with microservice deployments -- especially with porting legacy code.

In this session we will show you how to create your own OpenShift cluster on the IBM Cloud, how to use the oc CLI (command line interface) & how to use the OpenShift Web Console to deploy applications. Afterward, we'll cover distributed logging with LogDNA & then different modes of deploying to OpenShift including from a previously existing image, from a Git repository, & from Source Code using Source-to-Image (S2I).
