HackerNest Tech Socialsare informal monthly meetups where the NYC tech community gets together at a local venue to hang out, make new friends, and take a break from coding.
All you have to do is show up, grab a nametag, find a beer/wine/water, and hang out - that's it, there's literally nothing formal planned. Plan on meeting new friends in the tech industry, and getting into heated debates about Emacs & Vim.
Best of all, it'sfree(as in beer).
Still confused? That's OK, you'll figure it out. For more info:

Attendees:
That's you! Thanks for coming. Attendance is free, so all you need to do is be friendly and welcoming. We expect everyone to respect the HackerNest "No Douchebag" policy, which includes everything on theJSConf Code of Conduct, but also includes other forms of harassment like soliciting business or aggressively recruiting. Events like ours rely on everyone being great, so if you see someone being less than awesome, let us know, and they can take it elsewhere :)
Sponsors:
Sponsors make this growing movement possible, so we treasure and build deep, long-term relationships with the companies that endorse us. If you are the real deal and want to connect with the NYC tech community, let us know.

Volunteers:
Every city has a small team of volunteers that makes HackerNest possible. Usually, this just involves moving furniture, putting beer on ice, serving drinks, etc., and we will never let it take over your whole night. So if you can spare some time to pitch in and help out, please do!
