We're early days in the world of blockchain, but the speculation that it will disrupt long-standing products & services is rampant. Several hurdles including scalability, usability, & functionality must be overcome for the technology to be adopted by the masses. As blockchain makes its way into the mainstream, it will be up to designers to temper its technical complexity with usability.
Human-centered design-a process of using in-depth understandings of human beings to create effective solutions to intractable problems -- is an essential tool in designing usable products that will enable blockchain's promise of democratizing information ownership & ensuring security & authenticity.
