Join us this Thursday for a quick guide on how to deal with some nasty spreadsheets using Python!
Doors open at 6:00; event ends at 8:45. You must be on the RSVP list to attend. Seating limited to 90, first come, first served. Coffee, tea provided; contact us if you're able to SPONSOR food, drinks!
This Thursday, we'll be in MusicBox 5411.
We will use the pandas library which comes with the Anaconda distribution which is the recommended procedure for installing: https://www.anaconda.com/download/
Pandas' installation guide offers instructions for those who do not want to install Anaconda (https://pandas.pydata.org/pandas-docs/stable/install.html).
NYC Python co-organizer, Tobias Schraink, will walk us through a tutorial on how to clean a spreadsheet! We have all had it happen - someone sends us a spreadsheet that was not filled with you, the programmer in mind. THE DATA IS ALL OVER THE PLACE! But fear not! Together we will learn a couple of common patterns for dealing with data like this.
You can download the spreadsheet from github (https://github.com/tobsecret/deus-excel-machina).
PEOPLE AT STARTUPS WHO WANT TO SPONSOR FOOD, DRINKS: contact us, & let's make it happen!
A big thank you to Microsoft for making this event possible! Thank you, Microsoft!
