EVENT DETAILS |
Were hosting our first-ever Product Brainstorming Jam, aka PBJ!
We all know great products come from multidisciplinary teams but, to date, our events have skewed more discipline-specific. PBJ aims to be different. Open to all members of the tech community, these discussions will encourage shared understanding among individual contributors & will foster safe environments for cross-functional teams to work more effectively together.
You should attend if any of the following make you say YAS!:
1. Looking to learn how to work with cross-functional teams? 2. Starting your tech career & want to learn & meet new people? 3. Already in tech & you want to level up or add more to your toolkit? 4. Are you a founder or freelancer interested in learning more about product development?
PBJ evenings will be comprised of two parts:
First, we'll brainstorm how to use different tools, frameworks, & processes to further develop our both product sense & execution skills while solving product problems as cross-functional teams.
Then, we'll break into small multi-disciplinary groups where we'll dive into an actual problem & put our tool of the night to use.
Our first PBJ evening will be facilitated by Carbon Five Product Manager, Tamara Adebanjo, who will introduce the experience map tool (https://blog.carbonfive.com/2017/08/03/experience-mapping-2/) which we use to better understand and/or design functional user experiences with our clients.
At the close of the event, we'll gather up for a discussion on our takeaways as a group.
Event schedule -
6:30-7:00pm Arrivals & hellos 7:00-7:30pm: Experience Mapping with Tamara Adebanjo 7:30-8:00pm: Group Activity 8:00-8:30pm: Group discussion 8:30pm: Tearful goodbyes
There will be a PBJ bar & PBJ-themed goodies. If PBJ is not your Jam (pun intended), well have some traditional nibbles, wine, beer, & of course, La Croix!
