Workshops
Learn AI by Making Games with Phippy!
Taught by Cassandra Chin
What if you could dream up a game & bring it to life with AI? In this hands-on workshop, kids will team up with an AI coding assistant to create their own playable 2D games using the open source Godot game engine & colorful Phippy & Friends characters. From treasure hunts to tricky mazes, they'll choose the adventure & help shape the rules. As they build, play, & improve their games, kids will practice giving AI clear instructions, checking its work, & solving problems when things don't go as planned. Along the way, they'll discover that AI can help write the code, but they're the game designers in charge! No previous coding or game-making experience is needed, just curiosity & a willingness to experiment, explore, & play!
Bio: Cassandra Chin is a keynote speaker, author, podcast host, & computer science student. She has led technology workshops for kids at international conferences since age 13 & is passionate about expanding access to tech education for women, minorities, & underserved communities.
