Gilt groupe has emerged as one of NY's most prominent startups, expanding rapidly from their initial focus on flash site into different eCommerce areas. Scaling to this size has brought on a lot of challenges, including how to grow their technology, how to evolve process, and how to deliver faster. Gilt group is a big proponent of Scala language, and internally uses an architectural style called LOSA (Lots of Small Services) running over 400 different small services that interact with each other.
In this fireside chat and Q&A, we will talk about the evolution of the company's technology, team, process and culture.
