Welcome to the Drupal NYC monthly meetup!

Please join us on Wednesday, December 4th for our monthly Meetup for an evening of food, drinks, knowledge, & friendship in Tisch Hall classroom 201 on the campus of our generous venue sponsor, NYU Stern!

All are welcome to attend the Drupal NYC Meetup. At each meetup there will be one or more lightning talks & presentations as well as opportunities for new & old Drupalers to network, socialize, & get their Drupal questions answered.

You must enter your real name on the RSVP question (for building security) by 1pm on Wednesday, December 4th or your RSVP will be removed. Check-in opens at 6pm sharp (please don't arrive earlier). We look forward to seeing you!

"React in Drupal" by Shyam Taparia

This presentation will explore how developers & architects can leverage the Drupal 8 CMS & React library to build decoupled applications.

Topics include
- Why React with Drupal
- How to create a decoupled React Application
- How to create a coupled React Application

Bio:
Shyam is a software engineering manager/consultant who has worked with Drupal for four years & is passionate about frontend frameworks & libraries.

Presentation 2

"Up & Sprinting with Git" by Aaron N. Brock

Git is a version control system which lets you confidently make changes without fear of losing work while enabling collaboration with others. Its designed to handle everything from small to very large projects with speed & efficiency. Git is vital for rapid development (or any development really!). In this talk well be covering key concepts & best practices of git, so whether youre brand new to git or you use it everyday, there should be something you can take away from this.

Bio:
Aaron is a DevOps Engineer who began his journey programming at age 12. He has worked with a wide variety of companies & industries. As a teenager, he honed his backend development skills working for the largest minecraft server in the world. Aaron co-founded a cloud gaming startup with some Princeton classmates & brought the lessons learned from that experience to his work at telecom. He automated the deep learning pipeline for Soterea, an autonomous bus company in Tianjin, China, before joining the DevOps consultancy Contino where he helps transform the technologies used by some of the largest financial service companies in the world.
